Polyester flat webbing sling, 2 or 4-layer

The flat webbing sling is a polyester webbing consisting of 2 or 4 layers. At each end a reinforced eye is produced. The maximum capacity of 50 ton straight can be reached by positioning 2 webbings with a width of 300mm each next to each other.

With the reduced width for the lifting eyes and the reinforcement of the eyes this kind of sling can be easily combined with a shackle. Standard these webbing slings are delivered with a safety factor of 7. L = Double Layer L-4 = Four Layers Length on request.

 

Polyester slings are much cheaper than alternative slings made from other materials and usually are lighter, more flexible and have a greater factor of safety, though they do have less abrasive resistance.

This can be overcome by using a wear sleeve made from either polyester or from polyurethane. The polyurethane can either be wrapped round the sling or bonded onto the surface of the sling, some people refer to this as Secutex.
